Blood Bowl: New Beginnings

The stadium roared, but not for him.

The whistle was blown to mark the end of the game, but the orcs didn’t relent. They landed blow, after blow on the hapless humans of Minnisoda, until they were nothing more than a red stain on the field. The Lams moved on to the next round, and Samuel Darnhauld made his way to the dressing room a deflated, defeated blood bowl player.

Jim: Well Bob, there he goes. He had such a great season with Minnisoda, some even called it his revival.

Bob: Unfortunately, Jim, Its his team that needs the revival.

Jim: Certainly, Bob. Well, hopefully he can bounce back next season! That is, if Minnisoda can find 10 new players to replace the eh, dead ones.

“And another interception!”, cried the commentator. “That makes it 22 on the season, with one game left. Are we about to see another record broken?”

Genuine “Geno” Smith, the once acclaimed ‘comeback’ kid, had struggled to impress after his initial breakout season as the starter of the Seaddle Seefawks. He was the back up for a number of years, but suddenly found himself in the spotlight, and it looked like he was about to prove every wrong. In fact, he claimed no one wrote him back, except for his mother.

“The seefawks, trailing by a touchdown, really need to put up a big stop and score some points if they are to beat their division rivals to the final playoff spot. Bamfew Strafford hikes the ball, he sees an open runner and drops the dime right into the pocket! Touchdown Lams!”

The Lams. It’s always the Lams. Thankfully, the team gets blown up by some meddling goblins before the final of the Chaos Cup, defaulting the win to the equally as hated Wafnas City Leaves.

As Genuine Smith left the field, he shook his head at the cabalvision camras, producing the cutthroat gesture to the goblin working it.

I’m done. I’m out”. He said, walking down the tunnel and into the Seefawks locker room.

Unbeknownst to him the higher-ups of the team, the beloved waaagh-llen estate had already moved on from him and traded him to another team. In fact, the whole backroom and coaching staff were currently being led not to the locker room, but to the dungeon where they will also be moved on.
